GROUP CLASSES VS PRIVATE SESSIONS
Not all sessions are created equal—here’s what you need to know:
Group Classes
These are great for clients who are injury-free, not pregnant, and comfortable moving at a steady pace with minimal modifications. You’ll still get personal attention, but the flow is faster and the focus is shared. You should be able to get on and off the equipment confidently, manage your own body in space, and take responsibility for moving with awareness.
Private Sessions
These are the best fit if you’re:
Pregnant or newly postpartum
Recovering from surgery or injury (within 6 months and released by your surgeon or physio)
Managing pain, mobility issues, or chronic conditions
New to Pilates and want more hands-on guidance
Private sessions allow us to assess your body and build a plan that’s safe and effective. Once you’ve built a foundation and we’ve cleared you to do so, you may be able to move into group classes.
PLEASE NOTE:
If you’re pregnant, injured, post-operative, or working through something that requires extra care, you may not join group classes without a private assessment and clearance from Crystal.
It’s not personal, it’s about your safety and making sure you get the support you need and also respecting the other clients in class.
If you’re unsure where you fall, reach out. We’ll guide you in the right direction.
HOW TO BOOK + PAY
All bookings and payments are handled through Bookamat.
If you haven’t already, you’ll need to set up your profile HERE. Once that’s done, you can book from your phone, laptop, wherever—it’s quick and easy.
Here’s what you need to know:
Bookings are only confirmed once payment is made.
No payment = no reservation. The system holds your spot for 30 minutes, and then it gets released to someone else.Want to avoid that? Buy your package before booking. That way you’re already sorted, and you can grab your spot with zero stress.
Need help navigating Bookamat? Just shoot us a message. We’ll walk you through it.
Want to book a Private Session?
Private sessions aren’t available to book online—because they’re a little more personal and need to be scheduled around instructor availability.
If you’d like to book a 1:1, please reach out directly via:
WhatsApp 078 812 2595
or Email info@flexpilates.co.za
We’ll find a time that works and get you all set up.
WHERE TO FIND US
We’re based at The Terraces, Steenberg Office Park in Tokai.
Parking: There are six “Flex Wellness” designated parking spots, please do NOT park in any other spots. On Google we have a nice video showing you exactly how to find us, just go to photos and you’ll find the video.
Arrive at least 5 minutes before class, settle in, and we’ll get moving on time. Please be mindful of the next class as they will be looking for parking :).
CANCELLATION POLICY
If you need to cancel or reschedule a group class, please do so 12 hours before your class to avoid being charged. Private, Duet or Trio sessions require 24 hours cancellation notice.
Late cancellations and no-shows will be charged in full. We don’t do exceptions here. Not to be difficult, but because we run a small studio with limited spots. Holding a spot and not showing up means someone else misses out and we still pay our staff for each client booked in.
Thanks for respecting the space and the people in it.
INJURIES OR POST-OP? PLEASE READ.
If you’re recovering from surgery, injury, or managing chronic pain—you’ll need Crystal’s clearance before booking any group class.
Start with a private assessment so we can:
Understand what’s going on
Modify movement accordingly
Keep you safe and progressing
Group classes move at a faster pace and are not designed for rehab. Once we’ve worked together privately and it’s safe to do so, we can explore transitioning you into group sessions.
Your recovery deserves more than a one-size-fits-all approach. Let’s do this properly.
FEELING UNWELL? PLEASE STAY HOME.
If you’re feeling off—even slightly—it’s better to skip class.
This includes:
Coughs, fevers, sore throats, body aches
Anything stomach-related (nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea)
That “I think I might be getting something” feeling
If you or someone in your household has had gastro symptoms, we ask that you wait five full days after the last symptom before returning. That one spreads like wildfire, and no one wants to take it home.
We really appreciate your honesty and care on this one. It helps keep the whole studio running smoothly and safely.
STUDIO ETIQUETTE
We keep things calm, clean, and focused here at Flex. Here’s how you can help:
Grip socks are required in all classes. It’s for your safety and hygiene. Forgot yours? We have some available for purchase.
No shoes in the studio or on the equipment—please leave them at the door.
Please don’t wear strong perfumes or scented lotions. The space is shared, and many of our clients are sensitive to scent.
Hair must be tied up—no loose hair in class. Trust us, it’s not safe around springs and moving parts.
No big or dangly jewelry—it can damage and/or get caught in the equipment or get in the way of your movement.
Wipe down your equipment after class. Sprays and cloths are provided—just a quick once-over to leave it clean for the next person.
Phones on silent and out of reach during class. Please be respectful of others who are also paying to be in class
Minimal chatting during class—we’re all here to focus. Keep chatter low so everyone can tune in, move well, and stay in the zone. Yes, we love our community but we also need to focus, right?
Running late? Let us know on WhatsApp 078 812 2595. If it’s more than 5 minutes into class, we may not be able to let you in.
